Our story

World class performances spanning three decades underline Robin Brew’s background as an international swimmer, professional triathlete and international coach…

Robin’s many personal examples of sporting excellence include representing Great Britain, as a swimmer, at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games, and at the World and European Championships.

He won Silver at the 1982 Commonwealth Games and broke the 200m Individual Medley Olympic record at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where he also had the honor of captaining the Olympic Team.

At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Robin was part of the triathlon coaching team and responsible for preparing 5x World Champion Simon Lessing for his, and triathlon’s, first appearance at the Games.  At the same time, he was also supporting GB’s modern pentathlete Steph Cook preparation to win Gold at her first ever Olympic Games too.

At the 2008 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games, Robin successfully coached 5 athletes who won 1 Olympic and 6 Paralympic medals between them.  Modern Pentathlete Heather Fell and a young triathlete named Flora Duffy, were joined by Para-Swimmers Claire Cashmore, Louise Watkin and a 14-year old Lauren Steadman.

Robin’s coaching background and achievements were recognised by his “Outstanding Contribution to Sport” award presented by the Devon County Sports Partnership.

Robin Brew Sports was established in 1989 out of a desire to help triathletes, swimmers and athletes make a difference at all levels of performance…

Robin Brew Sports still retains many of the qualities that we set out to achieve back in 1989… experts in technical development, cutting edge training methodology and great coaching feedback.
